The Tekoa Chamber of Commerce is proud of its businesses. Farms, industrial, brick and mortar, home-based, service-oriented, organizations … we’ve got it all. To celebrate our hard working businesses, we will be visiting with several of them each month.
This week we visited with Kelsey from Mish Ink, a home-based, screen printing company and caught up on what’s been happening since COVID disrupted life for all of us.
Q. What is a favorite project that you completed of late?
A. Recently we had the opportunity to work with the Multicare NICU Staff up in Spokane, WA. We were able to help them fulfill a t-shirt and sweatshirt order for their staff. On the back of their shirt they chose a quote by Dr. Seuss: “A person’s a person no matter how small”. Just a really wonderful reminder to be kind to one another! 💜
Q. How has the Pandemic affected your business?
A. Mish Ink slowed down drastically through the Spring and early Summer, but we are now back up and running at full speed and are very grateful!
Q. Even though it’s been a tough year, what has been a highlight?
A. It has been a tough year, but we’ve had a lot of good come from this season of life too. We have had the opportunity to work with new customers that we had previously never met. During the slow time, we were able to put hours that we would normally have dedicated to screen printing back into our family and home.
Q. What encouragement do you have for businesses during this time?
A. That you can do hard things. This season of business and of life is hard, but it will pass. It’s time to get creative, collaborate with other businesses, get feedback from friends and family and from customers. There’s always room for improvement so if you are experiencing downtime, find ways to do better.
Mish Ink LLC is a family owned and operated screen printing business. All of our screen printing work is handprinted in Tekoa, WA. Kelsey and Taylor are both Washington State University alumni, one of the many reasons we love calling the Palouse our home. When we aren’t working, we enjoy our son, our dog, camping, and all forms of outdoor recreation.
You can learn more about Mish Ink and connect with them through their Face Book page, Mish Ink. You also can find some of their product for sale at Eclairs Coffee Shop and at Homestead General Store.
